DealPulse enables law firms to create AI-powered, dynamic structured databases of key terms, provisions, and issues in any category, including litigation pleadings, M&A, real estate, and any others. Customize your internal searchable precedent analytics, all powered by cutting edge tech.

Information is the lifeblood of your firm

DealPulse enables firms to tap the trove of knowledge within their internal documents. Its AI-powered database and analytics tools allow a firm to track and instantly analyze what’s market for M&A deal terms; gauge success of motions in particular case types; quickly access competitive analytics on adversary law firm work product; and gather current client engagement data — to name a few uses. As examples, attorneys currently use DealPulse to quickly demonstrate their knowledge of the mean go shop duration in bio tech, win business by creating customized league tables, and call the bluff of opposing counsel by checking terms of past deals to which they have agreed. At the same time, junior attorneys are using the system to find precedents, compare various clause types, and receive alerts on new documents related to a client.

Trusted and Secure

DealPulse is a trusted system used by LexisNexis, Wolters Kluwer, and leading law firms. The tool is installed on-premise within a law firm’s firewall. Its AI is built within a container, allowing firms to train the on-premise model to automatically extract data and answer questions regarding any particular document type for the purpose of creating a structured database within the platform. In this way, the firm’s client data remains secure within the law firm environment and the trained AI tool remains proprietary to the firm.

Company History

Outstanding and hugely ambitious!

It's like having Zillow for M&A and other transactions!

While similar products exist in the marketplace, I found Matterhorn easy to navigate and extremely comprehensive. Covered many areas that go unnoticed by others. I always recommend this product to colleagues and friends.

DealPulse provides firms with AI-powered technology to build structured data sets from their internal documents behind their own firewalls eliminating concerns about sharing client data with third party off-premise cloud solutions. From customized league tables used for business development to comprehensive trend reports, attorneys harness the data DealPulse provides to increase competitiveness and profitability. For years, only a select few of the AmLaw 20 law firms could boast a comprehensive deal database that gave them a competitive edge in negotiating competitive market terms. DealPulse will enable law firms across the AmLaw 200 to offer this value proposition to their clients without the need for manual tracking of deals.

DealPulse Inc was incorporated in 2023 by the Maker5 venture studio to acquire the Matterhorn Transactions Inc. business with a plan to enhance the Matterhorn platform with its AI capabilities. Co-founded by a team including Mark Gerson, John Cooper, and Logan Beirne in collaboration with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 2011, the system that became DealPulse was initially developed to quantify competitive market deal terms in public M&A deals from the perspective of investment bankers and their analysts. With attorneys at law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Debevoise & Plimpton working with the Matterhorn team to develop the database for Goldman, the team enhanced the database to cover approximately 1,000 legal data points per deal. LexisNexis then selected the platform to offer deal analytics through its Legal Practice Advisor (LPA) application. Today, DealPulse’s database powers part of Wolters Kluwer’s M&A analytics suite, giving their clients a clear edge in negotiating and drafting.

Clients using the public deal databases so enjoyed the features and ease of using our system that they began requesting an on-premise version of the product to house their internal documents. We have been honored to deliver! DealPulse has implemented the deal analytics platform on-premise at Holland & Knight and provides bespoke content services to Wilson Sonsini so these firms’ attorneys can analyze their private deals as a proprietary “what’s market” tool.  Similarly, LexisNexis UK utilizes the DealPulse platform to publish more than a dozen competitive deal types for the legal market in the United Kingdom.
